A key component of the Los Angeles City Public Safety Metro Site Master Plan was a replacement facility for the aging Parker Center, the headquarters of the Los Angeles Police Department. After years of planning, and with the help of the Urban Simulation Team's participation in the master plan study, the site of the old CalTrans offices on the block just south of City Hall was chosen as the location fo the new LAPD Headquarters. The Chief Legislative Analyst's office of the City of LA turned to the Urban Simulation to evaluate the design within the greater civic context. The facility is scheduled for completion in May of 2009.
