Project Date: 2004-2005

At the request of UCLA Neurosurgeon Dr. Neil Martin and with funding from Storz, the Urban Simulation Team produced a virtual recreation of Storz's OR1, a completely integrated operating room suite likely to be used in the new state of the art UCLA replacement hospital. With additional support from Global Care Quest, the team also integrated GCQ's computer display dashboards of patient data into the simulation.

The simulation has been used by Dr. Martin at numerous talks promoting the advantages that available modern technologies afford the medical community. The OR1 simulation was also featured at the Inaugural Visionary Ball, a fundraiser held to advance neurosurgical research, education and patient care at the new UCLA hospital.
