Crenshaw Amended and Crenshaw / Slauson Redevelopment Areas

Project Date: 2010-2012

In 2008, at the urging of Councilmember Bernard Parks, the Los Angeles City Council approved a motion for the Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency to contract with the Urban Simulation Team to develop a real-time 3D model of the Crenshaw Amended and Crenshaw/Slauson Redevelopment areas. These redevelopment areas consisted of such notable landmarks as Leimert Park, Crenshaw Plaza, the Vision Theater and Baldwin Hills Plaza. The model was created for the Agency to enable them and stakeholders to evaluate redevelopment proposals for the area.

Delivered on schedule in January of 2012, the model is one of the largest single sections of Los Angeles that the team has created to date stretching from 39th Street to the north and down to Florence Avenue to the south.
