University of California Santa Barbara

The University of California, Santa Barbara is currently involved in an ambitious campus-wide master-planning process. According to campus promotional materials, ground has already been broken for new buildings for engineering and the sciences, marine sciences, life sciences, and intercollegiate athletics, all to be completed in 2004. The team has also completed work on the California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI) building and parking structure, a joint venture of UCSB and UCLA on the UCSB campus which will “facilitate a multi-disciplinary approach to develop the information, biomedical, and manufacturing technologies that will dominate science and the economy in the 21st century” (
